About me

I have an holistic approach to counselling, working with the mind, heart, body and soul.  I see therapy as a collaboration, a conversation between the two of us, focussing on the issues or questions that are important to you.

We might start with what is bringing you to therapy right now and the changes you are hoping for. Together we will explore your questions, I will sometimes offer insights or challenge you. I often, but not always, work creatively with images and words, and pay attention to any tension/signals in the body.

I trained as an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor at Re-Vision, which is grounded in a wide range of modalities including Psychosynthesis, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Jungian and Transpersonal psychology. We will work at the pace and in the way that works best for you.

I have experience of working with people with anxiety, work-related challenges, low self-esteem, anger issues, stress, childhood trauma, inter-generational trauma, menopause, sexual abuse, bereavement, grief, relationship difficulties, co-dependency, sexuality, gender identity, addiction, feeling stuck and life changes.

Previously, I worked in the theatre and creative industries for over 25 years, as an actor, writer and director. I continue to work as a Creative Facilitator, leading drama and creative writing workshops. I have also worked in the justice system and NHS, including as a negotiator and in conflict resolution. My various strands of work are always underpinned by my passionate commitment to collaboration, equity, diversity and inclusion. I am an LGBTQIA+ friendly therapist, trans and non-binary people are welcome. I am committed to being anti-racist. I am continuing to learn in all areas, and attentively growing my allyship.

I am a Registered Member of UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy),and BACP (British Association for Counselling. I am also a registered member BAPAM Performing Arts Medicine and have Enhanced DBS.

Both BACP and UKCP are registered with the PSA (Professional Standards Authority). I work in accordance with UKCP policies and Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
